Welcoming Mathias Wiklund to Jacobi Robotics' Advisory Board
At Jacobi, we're building more than cutting-edge robotics software—we're building a movement to expand what's possible with robotics. The robotics industry is at a critical juncture where advancements in AI, automation, and motion planning are enabling solutions that were out of reach just a few years ago. To lead in this space, you need the right minds, the right experience, and the right ideas.
That's why I'm thrilled to welcome Mathias Wiklund to our Advisory Board.
A Partnership Built on Shared Vision and Global Expertise
Mathias' career reflects a remarkable global journey, driving innovation and growth in robotics and automation for over 25 years with leadership roles at some of the industry's most influential companies. As Chief Commercial Officer at Universal Robots, Mathias played a key role in driving global growth. Before that, he held senior leadership positions including Senior Vice President at KUKA Robotics in China and Chief Executive Officer at Comau Robotics in Italy and China. His experience also includes key roles at ABB, where he managed regions, major segments, and global business development.
From living in seven countries across three continents to managing teams with P&L responsibilities exceeding $1 billion, Mathias bridges the gap between technical innovation and commercial success.
I first met Mathias through our VP of Strategic Partnerships, Arno Strotgen, who worked with Mathias during their time at ABB. Arno himself brings over 30 years of experience in robotics and automation to Jacobi, having previously served as Group Vice President of Service & Digital Platform at ABB Robotics. Together, Mathias and Arno represent decades of leadership in shaping the robotics industry.
As Mathias himself put it:
"Jacobi Robotics is solving maybe the biggest challenge I've encountered throughout my career in automation—making deployment faster, easier, and more accessible for businesses of all sizes. Their approach balances technical excellence with a deep understanding of the complexities of scaling automation. I'm excited to support their efforts to reshape the robotics industry and make a lasting impact."
At Jacobi, we understand that scaling robotics isn’t just a technological challenge—it’s a human one. Transforming an industry requires navigating a complex web of stakeholders and conflicting incentives.
This is where leaders like Mathias bring a unique perspective from the inside. With decades of experience working across organizations, industries, and regions, he has a deep empathy for the challenges and priorities of the people who are affected by and drive change. His insights will ensure that Jacobi’s innovations align with the realities of the people and businesses we aim to serve.
Looking Ahead
We're growing fast, and this is just the beginning. The addition of Mathias is part of a broader effort to build an advisory team that represents the best minds in robotics, AI, and automation.
To anyone who shares our vision of a future where robotics is scalable, flexible, and accessible to all—I'd love to hear from you.
Mathias, welcome to Jacobi. It's not every day a Norwegian asks a Swede for advice, so consider this a rare honor!
